Gintama Anime sure to return

During the “Gintama Haru Matsuri (Ka)”, Yoichi Fujita who is one of the main directors addressed the issue of whether the anime would be continuing at a later date after ending last week at 201 episodes. His answer went along the lines of, “The creator [Hideaki] Sorachi didn’t come today, and I think he’s undoubtedly writing new story scripts. Once we have gathered the stock material, we staff members want to work on it again.”

The other main director, Shinji Takamatsu reassured the crowd by telling them that the Gintama anime is definitely not over yet.

So it should start up again once the manga has created more material to choose from.

i find it pretty ironic and hilarious that shows with stories often deviate or go into massive amounts of fillers when they’ve run out of manga to follow.
gintama, a show that frequently has fillers and time wasting scenes for the sake of wasting time, is actually on hiatus to wait for the manga to move on.

the only other show that seems to have done the same thing is D.Gray-Man…at least i hope it will get animated again. at the very least they didn’t butcher the story with weird fillers.

Yeah, at sometimes even going into entire seasons or years of filler.

And then Gintama, despite all the stalling, goes on hiatus. It’s kind of a good thing in a way.

well lets wait for shin gintama kai shippuden then! XD

the weirdest thing is how they not even once talked about the end of anime in the last episode but in past episodes they joked about anime ending and even wasted entire episodes with the joke!

guess it’s their way of making the point that they’ll be back

  5. Ginnodangan says:

    @ Fukki

The abruptness of how the episode ended certainly was weird. When I first watched it I was expecting them to have something like that at the end, especially when they sped through the opening.
