With the battle raging on above, Reira, Dohiko, and Yukari pray for Rikuo’s safe return before it shifts to him just about to take on Seimei, catching his grandfather’s blade to do so.
Without so much as a flick from his hand, Seimei stops Tsuchigumo’s advance and casts him too down to the fiery pit that lies below. After which Minagoroshi-Jizou presents to him the Maou’s Hammer, and disgusted with Kyoto’s current state he uses it to burn the city. Referring to him as Sanmoto Gorozaemon.
Starting with a quick recap of Rikuo confronting Hagoromo on the memories he has of her host, Hagoromo begins to waver as she begins to find some truth in them but refuses to aknowledge it. At which point down in the moat of the castle, the Nurarihyon speaks of his own suspicions when some reinforcements arrive.
As Kidoumaru swears to hold them back for the sake of his lord, Seimei, Rikuo closes the distance with his own fear and drives Kurotabou’s blades through him. However it matters not, they’ve run out of time.
Amezou, Awashima, and Itaku join the fight against Tsuchigumo but knowing that the only chance they have of defeating him is for him to once more wear the fear of one of his companions, Rikuo once more attempts the technique. But with Zen still recovering from the last attack, and Yuki-Onna humbly declining when she finds out that he first used this technique with Zen. It doesn’t exactly seem possible.
Having put complete trust in Zen, Rikuo finds his fear becoming infused with his own, allowing him to wear his fear. The very technique that Gyuuki had been referring to.
