Puella Magi Madoka Magica 11 and 12 (END)

On the eve of the Walpurgis, Kyubey appears before Homura and explains his theory that it’s due to the loops that Homura went through that Madoka has so much power, with each loop binding her fates together. Because of this he congratulates her on creating what could be the most powerful witch ever.

I don’t know whether it was procrastination, or just how inconvenient the time it finally aired turned out to be for me to write this up. But anyway…

In another time line for the series a timid Homura transfers into Madoka’s class after spending some time in the hospital, and is shown by her where the nurse’s office is. With Madoka taking the lead in introducing herself to her.

Upon Sayaka’s transformation into a witch, Kyouko grabs her lifeless body and with Homura’s help and ability to stop time they escape, with her telling her to leave her behind.

Sayaka proceeds to kill the witch and shatter the barrier, but instead of using the grief seed she throws it to Kyouko before collapsing into Madoka’s arms.

Once she arrived home Sayaka confronted Kyubey on just what the soul gems were but he simply threw back how they hadn’t really read the fine print and how it’s safer for them to fight like this, stepping on her soul gem as a way of showing her just how much pain this method shielded her from.

With Homura’s arrival Sayaka and Kyouko’s fight comes to an end with her telling Kyouko that she’s on the side of those who are calm, asking which side she belongs to. She then tells asks Madoka why she hasn’t heeded her warning yet and as she leaves Kyubey suspects her of something.

As the episode begins we’re able to see what exactly happened to Sayaka as she made a contract with Kyubey involving him reaching into her and pulling out what can be considered her soul gem, telling her it was her destiny to take it.

When Sayaka goes to see Kamijou she finds that he’s busy with his rehabilitation treatment, and as she leaves the nurses talk about how he may never play the violin and Sayaka asks herself why it had to happen to him instead of her.

Sayaka meets the boy in the hospital, Kamijou with a CD and when they listen to it together it reminds Sayaka of one of his concerts while it leaves him in tears.

Madoka wakes up thinking that everything from meeting Mami and Kyubey was a dream, however Kyubey sitting with her stuffed animals suggests otherwise.
